What To Expect

Sunday Worship Times: 9:00 and 11:00 am

Map: the Vineyard Church at 4700 East Beltline

As friendly as most churches hope to be, it still can be a little frightening visiting a church for the first time. Will everyone know what's going on but me? Will people be nice to me? Will my kids like it (and be well-cared for in a safe environment)? Will they ask me for money? How should I dress? Is it okay if I don't believe what everyone else seems to believe?

We've done our best to make the Vineyard Church as "user-friendly" as possible, whatever your background. The dress is casual and the atmosphere is down-to-earth and family friendly. You're welcome to sit wherever you like, sing along (or not), and ask any questions you have (nothing is off limits!). Before you leave, you can even pick up a free CD if you liked the music. Each week, many people visit the Vineyard for the first time, so you'll be in good company. Whether or not you decide to visit again, we're sure you'll find the Vineyard a helpful stop on your spiritual journey.

Communion

Every week before the service, we offer the opportunity to take communion. Known by some traditions as "the Lord's supper" or the "breaking of bread", communion is served each week by men and women who are trained to walk you through the process. So, if you're a follower of Jesus you're invited to join in, or you can sit back and enjoy the free coffee and music.

Worship

Our service begins with 25-30 minutes of lively worship music, led by one of several in-house worship bands. Vineyard Music is culture-current, so Sundays are a bit more like the live entertainment at a local bar/restaurant than a choir ensemble at a cathedral. We still love the classics, so you'll probably hear a hymn or two mixed in with modern radio favorites. Either way, we're sure you'll leave humming a melody.

Teaching and Prayer

After worship, there's a brief intermission for announcements and a chance to meet someone sitting near you (or a coffee refill) before one of our pastors gives the morning talk. Each Sunday, our pastors address how life is impacted by the teachings of the Bible and the life of Jesus. We think you'll find each message relevant and deeply impacting, but, don't just take our word for it, listen before you visit.

After the Service

Our services run about an hour and fifteen minutes, and we think you'll find it to be among the fastest-moving time you've spent in awhile. After the morning talk, feel free to meet some new friends around the coffee bar, meet a pastor, or stay late to talk and pray with one of our prayer team volunteers. If you have children, that's when you'll pick them up from Kids' Church.

We hope you'll stop by for a visit and, if you do, please say "hi" to one of the pastors. Whether or not you decide that Vineyard is the church for you, we'd love to assist you on your personal journey of faith.
